This training equips women with the knowledge to prevent and treat malaria for the most vulnerable groups—children under 5 years of age and pregnant women. Women learn how to protect themselves and their children, how to treat a malaria attack, and how to share this new information with their neighbors.

Adolescent girls have limited opportunities to attend school, save small sums of money in a secure place, and make decisions about money and health. As a result of early marriage, they also face increased risk of serious health problems. This training uses games, stories, skits, songs, rhymes and dialogue to encourage learning, while building girls’ self-confidence, solidarity and opportunity to connect with other girls. The games prepare adolescent girls to become healthy, informed adult women who are able to seize opportunities and contribute as empowered members of their families and communities.

HIV/AIDS (human immunodeficiency virus/acquired immunodeficiency syndrome) represents a critical health threat in India. This training addresses the causes and symptoms of HIV/AIDS, encourages behaviour change to prevent the spread of HIV, removes the fear and shame surrounding HIV/AIDS, encourages a positive and caring response towards those living with HIV/AIDS, and mobilizes community action. By helping women, their families and members of the community understand the facts about HIV transmission and prevention, they can protect their own health and the health of others.
