Reach India delivers high-impact training, equipping local organisations to support the efforts of their self-help group members. Designed specifically to meet the needs of local organisations, Reach India's training enables poor women and adolescent girls to improve their lives by providing vital information on health, livelihoods and family finance, as part of their regular self-help group meetings.

Health Education
Learning Games for Girls: Health | English | Hindi | Oriya | Assamese | Bengali
Adolescent girls have limited opportunities to make decisions about health. As a result of early marriage, they also face increased risk of serious health problems. This training uses games, stories, skits, songs, rhymes and dialogue to encourage learning, while building girls’ self-confidence, solidarity and opportunity to connect with other girls. The games prepare adolescent girls to become healthy, informed adult women who are able to seize opportunities and contribute as empowered members of their families and communities. Confronting Malaria in Our Community | English | Hindi | Oriya | Assamese | Bengali
This training equips women with the knowledge to prevent and treat malaria for the most vulnerable groups—children under 5 years of age and pregnant women. Women learn how to protect themselves and their children, how to treat a malaria attack, and how to share this new information with their neighbors.
Preventing HIV/AIDS: It Is Our Choice | English | Hindi | Oriya | Assamese | Bengali
HIV/AIDS (human immunodeficiency virus/acquired immunodeficiency syndrome) represents a critical health threat in India. This training addresses the causes and symptoms of HIV/AIDS, encourages behaviour change to prevent the spread of HIV, removes the fear and shame surrounding HIV/AIDS, encourages a positive and caring response towards those living with HIV/AIDS, and mobilizes community action. As women, their families and members of the community understand the facts about HIV transmission and prevention, they can protect their own health and the health of others. This training equips women with critical knowledge to protect their sexual and reproductive health, including information about menstruation, pregnancy and menopause. The training will help women to recognize the importance of eating foods rich in calcium and iron, determine when to seek medical advice for infections, negotiate condom use with their partner, prepare for possible emergency during childbirth, and recognize the signs of complications during childbirth.
Livelihoods Education
Accessing Rural Employment Under NREGA | English | Hindi | Oriya | Assamese | Bengali
The National Rural Employment Guarantee Act (NREGA) was passed by the Indian Parliament on 5 September 2005, guaranteeing at least 100 days of employment per year to rural households. This represents an important opportunity for poor families, yet they face many challenges in accessing its benefits. This training helps poor women overcome challenges such as obtaining a job card, understanding regulations related to child care and wages, and assert their rights at the Panchayat and administrative levels.

A good business plan can enhance women’s chances of success and their families’ well-being. This training helps participants improve their business planning practices, start up or grow their businesses, manage unexpected events, and take advantage of new opportunities.
Financial Education

This training uses games, stories, skits, songs, rhymes and dialogue to encourage learning, while building girls’ self-confidence, solidarity and opportunity to connect with other girls. The games prepare adolescent girls to become informed adult women who are able to seize opportunities and contribute as empowered members of their families and communities. Savings: Every Day Counts | English | Hindi | Oriya | Assamese | Bengali
Women often assume responsibility for managing their families' finances in uncertain circumstances and with few resources to draw on. This training equips poor women with the necessary knowledge and skills to set savings goals and strategies, estimate the amount of money to set aside for basic needs and emergencies, and protect their savings. These skills enable women to meet lifecycle needs, reduce their vulnerability to health threats, and increase food security for their families.
Budgeting: Plan How to Use Your Money | English | Hindi | Oriya | Assamese | Bengali
This training equips women to protect and enhance their families’ finances and food security, even during times of higher expenses and lower income. Women will learn to create a budget, prioritize spending, and develop financial strategies to cope with unpredictable income.

Insurance: Protecting Family Health under RSBY | English | Hindi | Oriya | Assamese | Bengali
Rashtriya Swasthya Bima Yojana (RSBY) was launched by the Indian Government to provide health insurance coverage for families living below the poverty line (BPL). The objective of RSBY is to provide protection to BPL households from financial liabilities arising out of health shocks that involve hospitalization.
Capacity Building for Local Organisations

The Self-Help Group (SHG) Formation training equips local organisations to promote and facilitate meetings for best practice self-help groups. By adopting a consistent approach to group formation, local organizations will promote groups that are transparent, well-governed, and encourages solidarity among members to find collective solutions to their daily problems.
Follow-Up Support Service | English | Hindi | Oriya | Assamese | Bengali
Reach India's Follow-Up Service is intended for SHPIs that have already been trained in one or more of the topics above. This service provides helpful guidance and support to better integrate Reach India education throughout their organisation, including how to schedule education delivery, how to monitor quality and how to support field staff to deliver education to all their SHGs efficiently and effectively.
SPM for SHG Promoters | English | Hindi | Oriya | Assamese | Bengali
Self-help promoting institutions (SHPIs) have important social missions to support the poor. However, fulfilling a social mission can be a challenge. This Social Performance Management (SPM) training helps SHPIs to examine their mission, strategy, operations and results, to better fulfill their social mission. Based on the pioneering work of the Imp-Act Consortium, this training is adapted to the specific needs of those organizations across rural India forming and supporting self-help groups (SHGs). Reach India Service Center personnel are Imp-Act certified trainers.
